Challenge
DesCor Builders had a strong existing brand / identity, as well as a solid footing as a recognized leader among Norther California builders, however the state of the existing web site fell far short of reflecting not only the class and sophistication of the company, but the forward thinking attitude stated throughout the company literature. The web site was severely outdated, lacking in effective content, did not establish the perception of DesCor as an industry leader, and lacked a cohesiveness with the existing identity. Overall, the web site did not provide effective sales information or address the primary purpose of “Why Choose DesCor?”
Result
We took a radical approach to the design of Descor's new site to completely set them apart from the rest of their industry. We started from the ground up, bringing the DesCor culture to the forefront to bring the website to life and make sure the website properly communicated the organization’s experience and positive, professional approach which is focused on building personal relationships. The design philosophy for the DesCor web site included natural elements to re-emphasize the company's core philosophy of being firmly grounded (soil) in the belief that maintaining long, solid relationships with its customers is the key to success and growth (grass), both as a company and individual team members
The DesCor web site content was revised and re-written to provide a compelling overview of relevant company and project information allowing the site to act as an automated salesperson. The user experience was greatly improved by giving the site more visual interest, making the site simpler and easier to use, and overall providing a more engaging experience through improved organization and visual design. We also implemented our Motivity™ Content Management System to allow for timely updates to upcoming and completed project information.
One of our goals was to bring the DesCor culture to the forefront to properly communicated the organization’s professionalism and positive attitude focused on building personal relationships. We coordinated a photo shoot and utilized photos of the company's actual employees throughout the site to help communicate this concept. We also wanted to better distinguish DesCor as a leader in the industry by elevating their web presence above all other competitors in Northern California. Knowing that the internet is where approximately 85% of users do their primary research to compile their short list, we built the new web site to provide DesCor with a strong, competitive advantage that would be the edge they needed to make more short lists. We advised the client to collect testimonials that could be added to the site to provide even more credibility and created intuitive pathways for users to locate relevant information.
